Certain industries provide high profit margins and Hydro Power is one such. Commodity trading is another where high profit margins can be maintained. There were years where percentage of Hydro Power company Vidullanka was almost similar to Asiy.N

ASIY because of high profit margin qualifies for dividend hunters like Hydro Power companies.

Payout ratio from Earnings stand a higher value and even at current prices the dividend yield remains attractive.

ASIY spent LKR 367 Million in the group's second warehouse where the construction completed by now.

This warehouse is the first Green Warehouse of Sri Lanka and double the storage capacity of the company.
Since the warehouse is energized only by solar power it will reduce the energy bill substantially and improve the profit.

At present ASIY is one of the four leading tea brokers of the country which share 14% of the 320 Million Kilogram export...

This is the most discussed thread on ASIY
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

sls and I had a good discussion with diverse opinion going on.

Just to make a correction, "Directors" did not sell. It was the parent which was selling.

Now my assumption was because they were in margin as they had to buy extra during a mandatory offer (if my memory is correct) and they had to clear.

This was a good one to have had when prices were much lower and good dividends declared. Now profits are lower so don't expect same dividends to continue. A lot of income came from the lending business. Now they have increased warehouse capacity through new warehouse. But till they utilize it fully, it won't perform at optimum level.

I don't hold ASIY anymore and have not studied this deeply. Comment above just from my memory.
