@Redbull, They have not announced the dates yet?? Have they? Does it mean if I enter today to UML I will be eligible for the subdivision?? And also is this a good time to enter??

Yes if you buy on or prior to X date (which has not been announced yet and they cannot give a date with restrospective effect) you will be elligible for sub-division.

Tnx ET. I just had a look at their history and last time it was in 2010(If my memory correct) they have done the sub-division. And also I was bit skeptical whether they go for a right issue as well.

Somebody may reply.......

The reason was given last time on share split "to improve the liquidity of the share in the stock market". I think the same this time also. Plus I don't think they'll go for a right issue in near future.

Last time on the day of split announced that is on 13/10/2010, closing trading price was 220.70.

Can somebody do an analysis on UML as how it will perform in the future after the sub-division??.

If you all see the equity portfolio of UML, you won't regret of any investment in UML. It is simply excellent.

Yes they have invested nicely in the mkt during past couple of years. All most every investment they are at a profit at present. This includes blue chip companies and 2.0mnshares in NDB and HNB,COMB,SAMP,DFCC,NTB,DIST,TJL,SPEN all are in the portfolio. These boys have hired a very good investment advisor to the company. will see .....

And I thought it was all about Montero sales

Me too got the same feeling and would be delighted to find the person who is behind this. Ans also this is a good lesson for the companies who depend only on their core business. Well done UML.

Any news regarding the Sub-division??? Is there any possibility to give up the idea by the board?? I mean can they do that??

Last time after the initial announcement, EGM was held after 6 weeks.

I'm expecting this time by 3rd week of August 2014.

Now it is around 130.00-135.00. If bulls continues this may hit 150.00. Isn't it. I bought Q 126.00 and hope to hold long term.

Leon after the announcement this should come down to Rs127 levels as per the sri Lankan style.

@SH, 127.00 will be grate. I suppose it will come down to 90.00-100.00 or further down.

This quarter UML is badly hit. EPS mere 2.50. Will see how they fight next Q.

I guess this poor result will badly effect to reduce share price after sub division.....
I expect it would come back to 120/- range even after sub division....
Since EPS dropped from 6/- to just 2+.
High chance for it stay around 80 - 100 range for more time...
Anyway let's see........
