Re: Weekend IQ for you :)
7*6 = 42
6*5 = 30
5*4 = 20
3*3 = 9
So the answer is 9

8 x 8 - 8 = 56
7 x 7 - 7 = 42
6 x 6 - 6 = 30
5 x 5 - 5 = 20
3 x 3 - 3 = 6

8 x 8 - 8 = 56 = 8 * 7
7 x 7 - 7 = 42 = 7 * 6
6 x 6 - 6 = 30 = 6 * 5
5 x 5 - 5 = 20 = 5 * 4
4 x 3 = 123 x 3 - 3 = 6
3 x 2 = 6 = 3 * 2
hmm....

I think it is 15. As 6=30, so 3 should be 15.
And they have purposefully avoided 4. As 8 is there.

Siva if it so.....
then it says 8 = 56 and 5 = 20,
then 8 - 5 = 56 - 20
so 3 = 36
so i guess your suggestion might not correct.................

Re: Weekend IQ for you :)
(5 x 4 = 20 / 4 x 3 = 12 / 3 x 2 = 6)
The natural order, I believe.
Unfortunately the 4 has been omitted with purpose.

Re: Weekend IQ for you :)
8x7 =56
7x6 =42
6x5 = 30
5x4 =20
4x3 =12
3x2 = 6
4x3 is not there if you look at the picture so thats the trick there not identifying the trend there. If you miss it will get 12 or 9. You dont look at 3 and go for 4x3 =12 looking at the trend. 9 when you see 3 and think 3x3 = 9 but dont realize 4 is missing.
BTW LSE you got a formula what is it?

Re: Weekend IQ for you :)
Assume we can find any value according to the sequence by substitute values in to that formula, like you demonstrate in your example.
Note:
Friend Shasi, nice work. Waiting for your answer and for a new IQ.
Thank You.

Re: Weekend IQ for you :)
Girihell, Seyon, Serene, Chinwi, Seek, KDDND, LSE, Kithsiri, Bala have got it right
LSE's equation can be used to get the answer: A x (A-1) = B
4=12 is missing and the answer is 6
As Bala (and many others) has put:
8x7 =56
7x6 =42
6x5 = 30
5x4 =20
4x3 =12
3x2 = 6
