For me, there is no valid reason for plantation shares to go up. Hope some one will list down positive factors in this industry for near future.

but some of the plantation shares are generating good Dividend for this year any spcl reasons

Last year was good for some plantations. You can expect good dividend from those companies. But this year will not be good as last year since signs are clear to expect a dry year in 2014. Tea production has already been down by 50% for first two months compared to last year.
I had some CTBL and hydro power, sold all at a small profit and strengthen two other shares in the PF.

If someone go through the plantation sector price movement for the last 10+ years.
It is cyclical, those who buy in the down trend and keep it for 2-3 years get hand some gain.
For short term play, I do not advice plantation. May be I'm wrong.

A tea industry veteran said to me that his biggest worry is that the rate of replanting has been on a steady decline in the recent past and that does not bode well for the future. This of course has no bearing on current prices, just for consideration of the long term players. In the medium term, the weather guru's haven t as yet declared the beginning of an El nino period, but have indicated the possibility. I think Chinwi is more up to date on such matters.

Time to time this ICE-Tea company becomes a HOT-Tea in CSE. Some speculation is going on the floor. A BUY came from few sources. Not a bad price for a short term gain.
