At this point Sajin had allegedly remonstrated with Dr. Nonis asking him to withdraw the remark and say sorry to Ms. Seneviratne.

... Thus even if the Nonis version of the incident is correct he will find it almost impossible to prove it conclusively. Besides there is always the possibility that the versions of Sajin and Kshenuka are indeed the truth. !

Main reason for this incident is party organized by Air Lanka manager.

How he spent public funds to host a party to  SL politicians and higher officers

He is given entertainment allowance to promote  Air Lanka  He can't use this allowance to host a party for his personal benefits

According to news (We do not know correctness) behavior of  Nonis is not up to expected level of an ambassador

This incident clearly indicate mismanagement of public sector under this govt

Seems like both parties are wrong in someway. Its a pitty that increasing number of SL ppl screw things up when its going well for them.

I don't know what really happened but looking at past records of the 2 main people involved, I favor Nonis in this. If he is the one to blame for starting this, then giving resignation is a real cover up. But somehow looking at his nature , will he do something like that if so?

Whatever said and done ( about selection process and his unpopularity ) he did stand up for his country at a crucial time and brought foriegn attention.

How many others can do it with the same effect? We need such educated people who can convince and not people who abuse their might to intimidate others to give in.

aney sls, i am just joking about nonis ok. i am just trying see the funny side of this. 
i no nonis talking well with bbc or cnn during commonwealth games. i am thinking he doing his job - well. but that, we are expecting from him minimum. problem is we have lowered our expectations of our representives. so when they doing their job we thinking that they are standing up and ovation. but really this is the job they have to do. i thinking we are used to seeing too many jokers around and expecting very little no ?

With very good educational background

See the person like Palihakkara, ,Prasad Kariyawasam ,Munasingha Who was in Sou
th Africa, Navaratneraja Who was in Baghdad

( Writer has first hand experience with them when he visited foreign countries for official work

from 1980s)

Seems like she has done silly mistake which's IMPACT is HUGE and NEGATIVE to the country or international affairs or to Dr Nonis as ambassider... as Nonis got to response to local ministers or government ....

there could be another way of looking at this conversation...

either this lady's previous....actions are irresponsible or less knowledge or unsuitable for dealing these international offices' work...

another way if we happened to find few more such videos... then Dr Nonis's usual action could be like this..... so its his way of doing..... however he has become a successful and well recognized professional in a country like UK.....


but all in all.... we can't directly trap NONIS in a bad position.....or as a bad person....

but its SURE Dr Nonis is not a POLITICAL STRONG or POLITICALLY POWERFUL person... so he is in a losing side of the GAME.... but
MANY Professionals in Sri Lanka and Outside..... mentally with aline with/in the side of Dr Nonis....than the Government or related party/person...

If this CASE lead to LOSE lots of VOTES to GOVERNMENT or IF Dr NoNIS can give LOT of VOTE to GOVERNMENT in FUTURE...... then he will be in winning side.....
thats the WAY we get ARSSCHARYEE to OUR COUNTRY in this time of ERA.....

there could be lot more reasons to be found.... but all these comes after hitting the Nonis..... thats the PROBLEM... until then Nonis is GREAT!!!

This is what happens when incompetent people are appointed for important places.

He does have a temper. No doubt. It was clear even in his famous interview. Also a very shrewd person based on body language visible in that video - which may be a plus in his appointment as the Representative for SL in UK (as long as he is in "our side").

luckily president has appointed a very competent person to monitor them all. he  has  grade 8 exam qualification and also  one subject pass in OL exam. very competent. if not for this monitor this incompetent diplomat with First Class professional degree from imperial college and post graduate degree from Cambridge  would have continued.
we have lot of competent people like this in parliament and in foreign service. we need more and more competent people.

Then again, if a man with such flamboyant qualifications cannot control his temper and treat a minor staff well and decent, what is the use of such (so-called) educational qualifications?
Where was his arrogance and temper when he was floored with a slap by someone recently in front of many people?

you are correct .arrogance ...,this is the whole problem. the likes of krish nonis,dayan, prof rajive etc types have some pride because they are well educated. they do not go to lick shoes of a grade 8 qualified person .this grade 8 scholar cannot digest this because all other politically appointed people do that licking to survive..that's the whole problem behind this .as you said he thinks slapping  and flooring them down is the way to stop this arrogance and win the respect .so  he has done that .so we are now witnessing the outcome.I do not know krish had shed his arrogance after this incident.

krish nonis and dayan etc were politically appointed people .  .so whatever politically happened is upto them.

but  most pathetic thing is what happened to most senior career diplomat Prasad kariyawasam.  he was  one of my hero  before.   a cricketer, good sportsman,, very bright ,handsome, good  English speaker, brilliant communicator , moves well in power corridor etc.a role model in school, university.
but unfortunately even  he has not seen this slapping because he was fully immersed in music. he had signed it and given to the ministry.it is disgusting to see my heros questionable credibility now.my hero became nero and listened to music while the party was turning  to a war.
other senior diplomats have seen nonis falling from a chair.thats all. an automatic fall.

I cannot believe a public service can fall to such a low level. what is the credibility of my hero now. where is his conscious. these are not daily wage earning coolies. they are very highly reputed ,seasoned career diplomats. this is one of the most disgraceful betrayal of public service by highly senior officials.
this shows the pressure of the  grip that they are being subjected. the slap krish got is relatively more respectful than  disgrace that they are being subjected to.
.but still ,if they have even slight concern about shame , they should have resigned instead of signing this letter. because Prasad had been a role model for the student of his school, peradeniya uni students etc, in these places students/teachers still talk about him. he became naked after signing this letter.no shame for him.
