Brussels explosions: Airport and metro hit with 'at least 13 killed'

everal explosions have struck Brussels airport and the metro system, causing at least 13 deaths, Belgian media say.
Two blasts tore through the departures area of Zaventem airport shortly after 08:00 local time (07:00 GMT).
An hour later, an explosion hit Maelbeek metro station, close to the EU institutions. The airport and whole transport system have been closed.
The attacks come four days after Salah Abdeslam, the main fugitive in the Paris attacks, was seized in Brussels.
The Belgian government says there have been casualties at the airport but has given no numbers. The cause of the explosions has not been confirmed.
Belgium has now raised its terror threat to its highest level. Prime Minister Charles Michel tweeted: "For the moment, we are asking people to stay where they are."

Belgian broadcaster VRT said that in addition to the dead at the airport, at least 35 people were severely injured.
The Belga news agency reports that shots were fired and shouts in Arabic were heard before the two explosions. Some reports say it was a suicide attack.

Slightly worrying, to put it like that, if the city of EU institutions turns into some sort of war zone.

සමහර ද්‍රවිඩයන් සහ සමහර සිංහලයන් යුරෝපයේ ජීවත් වන්නේ සරණාගතයින් හැටියට. අනෙක් කරුණනම් ඔවුන්ට ලංකාව වැඩකුත් නැත. එහෙත් මොවුන් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සාමය උදවෙනවටද කැමති නැත. ඇයි ඒ ?.

2. සරණාගතයින් ලෙස ලියාපදිංචි වූ පසු එම රටවලින් බහුතර පහසුකම් නොමිලයේ ලබාදෙන අතර මාසික දීමනාවක්ද ( ලංකාවේ මුදලින් 30000- 50000ක් ). ප්‍රවාහන පහසුකම් බෙහෙත් බහුතරය නොමිලයේ.( මොවුන් ආණ්ඩුවෙන් ඒවත් අරගෙන හොරෙන් රැකියා කර බදු ගෙවීමකින් තොරව ලක්ෂ ගණනින් මුදල් සොයනු ලැබේ.)
3. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සාමය උදාවුවහොත් යුරෝපය මොවුන්ගේ සරණාගතභාවය අහෝසිකර ලංකාවට එවීමට කටයුතු කලොත් මොවුන් විශාල අර්බුදයකට පත්වේ. මන්ද ( යුරෝපයේ සමහර රටවල සමහර සුළු සේවකයෙක් වුවද ලක්ෂ 3ක් පමණ වැටුපක් ලබාගනී. ) කවුද කැමති ලංකාවට ඇවිල්ලා රුපියල් 30000 ට පොල් ගාන්න.
4. සරණාගතයින් ලෙස සිදුකරන මිනිස් ජාවාරමෙන් සමහරු විශාල මුදලක් සොයති. එක් පුද්ගලයෙක්ගෙන් අඩුම ලක්ෂ 12-15 අතර. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නැති ප්‍රශ්න පේනවා. මානව හිමිකම් කඩවෙන බව බොරු ප්‍රකශ සිදුකර සමහර සිංහලයන්ද යුරෝපයේ සරණාගතභාවය ලබාගෙන ඇත.

මෙවැනි කරුණු සහ තවත් නොකී නොදන්නා බොහෝ කරුණු හේතුවෙන් මොවුන් ලංකාවේ සාමය උදාවෙනවට විරුද්ධ වේ.

indeed. but I try to drag out what I saw in europe. how these refugees ruin europe. feel very sad when they ruin europen culture and cities. . EU always consider about human rights and etc. europeans pay tax to help these refugees but refugees ruin them

Even I echo the same sentiments.
They spoil everything and even we should be careful when taking in people as refugees here.

Seems like the situation is due to the general tightening of security in the airport.

Anti terrorism expert Michelle Brooks has warned about this several months back (that our airport is the most vulnerable for ISIS highjacking of a flight to Heathrow).

We go begging for money in certain places and they are happy to give and with it their medieval ideologies too.
We have to be careful and think long term and not how to win the next election.

Worried what happened to the Belgian Mystery Investor who promised to defend rupee by depositing US$ 1 billion. Is he safe? Any information about him? Hope no harm to him due to the bomb blast.
