If you listen to it carefully, he says he already was a rich person before entering CSE. Investing several hundreds of millions was not a big deal. But he wanted to learn first and started with a very low investment of just Rs. 300,000/= in 1996 and trading for 4 years.

He clearly said without knowing the business he doesn't want to invest but once he learns then there is no limit.

Good one for the CA's. In an old interview there was no Buthkaday, it was the 3000 rupees his mother gave to buy shoes, lent on interest to pavement man, then jackpot machines. Still a good talk and mostly off the cuff.

My maternal grand mother could not suppressed her laughter after reading Bradman Weerakoon's book on RP.

Correction:
500 rupees. Shoes were not that costly in 1987.
200 interest per day from the pavement hawker for 500.

wonder if the than pavement man is still there.
I can invest 500 rupees.
