Sri Gauthama Sambuddha and Ehelapola Kumarihami were extremely poor movies IMO when it comes to delivering the message and production.

Maharaja Gamunu was much better.

Still we're far behind Western productions - we're told funding and facilities such as cameras, etc are the issue. I don't know..

When people watched "Passion of the Christ" thousands and thousands converted to Christianity.
When i saw Sri Sambuddha Gauthama, i was wondering whether people might convert to another religion (sorry if what i say sounds wrong). It was good for children (only) in my view

එත්,දැන් ළමයි වැඩිපුර ඉන්නේ facebook එකෙයි,තව ඒ වගේ ඒවායේ...සිංහල ෆිල්ම් බලන උන් නම් අඩුයි,එත් ෆිල්ම් හෝල් වලට නම් යන ඒක අඩුවක් නැ කෙල්ලෙක් එක්ක ,මම ඉන්නේ ෆිල්ම් හෝල් 3 කට ලගින්.

i also enjoyed New Olympia...

Everyday in Comings time there was movie clips of Madam Bovary.. Thats a movie I liked out of all shown in that theatre

I think Chinwe was more decent... there was a Puchi Olympia near New olympia..

A guy having Rs 20 notes budled among fingres were waiting to see young ones like us moving towards New Olympia.. We curiously looked at him and he ushered us to a dark room by charging Rs 20 each..

Thoseday days video players were luxury... and that was the way Punchi Olympia operated...

Now Youngones have all that luxury on Mobile Phones... So

Bambara Walalla was a good movie and I wathced it several times..Out of all Ashoka Hadagama movies I think Ini Awan was the best..Somarathna disanayakas movies were not bad either

I dont compare our movies with High tech movies of the developed nation...

Machang is the movie of our technoloyg.. For the time being that levle is OK

Passion of Christ was a movie that brought tears to my eyes..EXODUS was also a nice religous 3d movie

I respect Sri Lankan actors and actress for running this movies as well as stage dramas...

Rajitha Disanayakas all stage dramas are really good and eagerly wait to see ACID WESSA soon
