Sri Lanka gets US$1.1bn dollars from India's RBI to boost forex reserves

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka is getting 1.1 billion US dollars from the Reserve Bank of India to boost foreign reserves, Deputy Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe said, with the balance of a 1.5 billion US dollar swap arrangment coming into effect.
The funds will reach Sri Lanka overnight.
The RBI had earlier given 400 million US dollars to Sri Lanka to boost reserves.
In July Sri Lanka had 6.8 billion US dollars of foreign reserves, and there has been some outflows in August.
The rupee reference rate eased to 134.75 rupees to the US dollar Thursday. (Colombo/Sept03/2015)
