No fossil fuel for vehicles by 2050
All it takes is a major war to block the supplies of fuel.
Failing which the eventual drying up of the existing oil fields will make us more foolish to use up all our oil reserves to enjoy selfish individuality.

Time to secure our existing resources.

So do specialists who know their trade and teach us how to preserve water or anything else for that matter.
Take away the specialists at this juncture and see what happens to the remaining resources which will deplete rapidly and prevent the rest of the future generations from utilizing them.
What is needed at the moment is high level of regulation and standards with close monitoring backed up by good and practicable laws.
Then no individual or entity can manipulate or take undue advantage of any situation that will have a detriment to the consumer or general public.
There are plenty of examples to prove that specialists have improved and harnessed the output of production which if done manually would involve high wastage and high costs.
That is why we find that cottage industries have faltered and floundered greatly. Of course except the piggeries, chicken farms and prawn farms that have sprung up everywhere in this island. The negative impact on the environment is another factor which involves greater risk than depletion of resources.
The water board has not taught us to conserve water!!!

Re: No fossil fuel for vehicles by 2050
In worse case, we will find better alternatives for vehicles.
But the best could happen is limitation in transportation; which would lead to;
* Minimization of travelling physically, for instance to offices back and forth. Instead, virtual offices and 'work from home' will come to effect by giving people more freedom.
* Rather than being 'individuals' people will learn to live in community 'clusters' and to have all required; offices, hospitals etc within walking distance, allowing more human to human interactions.
Can you think of any other developments; and are they positive or negative?

some are:
-Town planning
- Eco friendly planning of buildings (Not for Ac's, Fans and extensive lighting. Have new laws to comply with this requirement or else no approval to be given by the authority concerned.)
- Having all Ministries within one location
- Investment in rail transport
- Have equally good schools, hospitals, facilities in all the districts. (Avoids need for parents travelling daily from long distances to their place of employment)
- stop the unnecessary transport of children above 12 years to school in separate car. Use public transport or pooled vehicles like a van.
