ආනයනික වාහනවල අවම ඒකක බද්ද ඊයේ මධ්‍යම රාත්‍රියේ සිට සංශෝධනය වන බව ලංකා වාහන ආනයනකරුවන්ගේ සංගමයේ සභාපති ඉන්දික සම්පත් මෙරෙන්චිගේ මහතා පැවසීය. අද පැවති ප්‍රවෘත්ති සාකච්ඡාවක දී ඒ මහතා මේ බව කියා සිටියේය.
මෙහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දක්වමින් ඒ මහතා කියා සිටියේ වාහනවල බදු ගණනය කිරීමේ දී වටිනාකම් තීරණය කිරීමේ විෂමතාවයක් තිබුණු බවත් එය වෙනසකට භාජනය කරමින් වාහන සඳහා අවම ඒකක බද්දක් හඳුන්වා දී, නිෂ්පාදන බදු වෙනසකට භාජනය කර ඇති බවයි.
මේ අනුව ත්‍රීරෝද රථයක් සඳහා බද්ද ලක්ෂ 4 ක් පමණ වන බවත්, ප්‍රියස් රථයකට තිබුණු ලක්ෂ 33 ක බද්ද ලක්ෂ 72 ක් දක්වා ත්, X-TRAIL රථයක බද්ද ලක්ෂ 40 පරාසයේ සිට ලක්ෂ 80 දක්වා ත් ඉහළ යන බව ලංකා වාහන ආනයනකරුවන්ගේ සංගමයේ සභාපතිවරයා මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය.
මෙලෙස නව ක්‍රමවේදය අනුව බදු ගණනය කිරීමේ දී 1500 CC දක්වා අවම බද්ද ලක්ෂ 30 ක්, 1500 CC -1600 CC දක්වා එක ඒකකයටකට රු. 3,500 ක් සහ 1600 CC ට වැඩි ඒකකයකටරු. 4,000 ක බද්දක් අදාළ වන බව මෙරෙන්චිගේ මහතා පැවසීය.

Can somebody explain why when ever PM is in Japan, the vehicle price goes up ?

This is a measure taken so that existing stocks that are slow moving can be soled out. Next budget there will be a revision. Car dealers say one thing and agree with govt on other things.

If you look at the new rates carefully there are plenty you can order from both Toyota and Honda at lower prices. Media just highlighted few gone up.

The mammoth duty of Toyota Prius is hilarious, and no one will buy a Prius for these prices. but here I see a hidden agenda. Prius released a newer version for 2016, which is very much attractive and well shaped than the previous model, on top of that there is an upcoming version for 2017 (Link below). If we look at many vehicle sales, there are many unsold older Prius models all over. If they are unsold, these people will collapse, with adversely affecting the whole industry and leasing businesses to a certain extent as well. A Vehicle bubble ?
Ultimately some of them must have funded the election campaign of these people eh !
