Correct, PM shouldn't have named these type of media-men. His Uncle JR had never done that(He used other methods similar to the King though). By the way this media guy made history as the first media person to interview first Sri Lankan rocket scientist. Proud to be a Sri Lankan !

One thing that was re-affirmed after PM's remarks and reading related articles was that since these radio and TV waves are public property, journalists should be more responsible in what they are talking specially in "live" telecasts. These important aspects of media was not there at the time of previous regime. After all PM knows what he is talking and there was no objection specially from Mr. Dinesh G in the parliament. All came outside and started shouting.

Chathura is just a parrot of someone who got lot of skeletons in the closet. He won't shout much because his boss can get in to trouble again.
One good thing to see is that some action taken against previous govt officials or MR family members. They thought they will be in power forever. Now the current govt politicians will be careful since their turn will come since no one can be in power forever.
This way country will benefit as it will be ranked less in corruption for investments, trade etc.

A very loving innocent hope.... Do you have other sources to check news other than Mass Media... If so just check what is happening in ministries, SOEs, appointed directors and find yourself how much is earned without even developing a single project...
If you believe that the clan used to be with MR and rob have disappeared just ask someone living in SL where are the Politicians who robbed with MR... Are they in Jail or are they holding ministerial Portfolios again...?

In corrupted lands those who chase leaders become more corrupted than earlier... and the cycle continue in a vicious circle..
Forget politicians... ask from friends who are working in ministries and SOEs about the newly appointed directors and officers....
The only remedy is educating oneself, then educate others in return and create a model of our own after learning about Meiji Restoration of Japan, Park Chun Hee of S.Korea, Zhu of China and leaders of Botsvana...

He is just a young immature brat. If any one listen to his news analysis in the morning can see that how little knowledge and understanding he has on relevant subjects. His hidden agenda is so revealing. Now I'm sure about one thing, this guy will get the ticket to contest for parliament in next election, and who knows the RW him self give him the ticket if not the other camp. That's how SL politics work, only little better than the Tamil Nadu.

"You scratch my back & I scratch yours" had been going on for long and now it has gone into our blood.
That is why in a previous thread that we talked about "Are we a Nation of Cheats".
We are in a vicious cycle as YK correctly said and that is why I advocate the Educated & Young to go somewhere else before we become like one of those failed states in Africa.
Nationalistic and religious deviations being created will keep us poor forever like bonded slave.
When will we be able break shackles?
The best chance we had was in 2010 Presidential Election and what happened to is no secret to any.
Now I see not much future for the country.

You are talking something else to what I said. Unlike most Bayyas who have loyalty to the former Royal looters, I dont try to justify wrongdoing of the party I voted for. I did not say there is no corruption now I have stated that in other threads. What I said was now there is a chance for the next govt to take action too. I dont just comment reading headlines lol. Some people think they know everything lol

we can see lot and lot of parrots, immature lads and lasses, mature but writing for money journalists in all most all the media institutions. but we can see 100% of the staff of govt owned media and press are of that category, then and now.ranil should give priority to correct government media by allowing them to work and write independently.
