Successor to Angela Merkel already chosen, trained and ready to take over. Read on.
Unlike our politicians, Angela Merkel has already tutored, trained, coached and mentored her successor to take over the reigns of headership as Chancelor of Germany.
I admire that woman for her large heart, good brains, inert energy, sassy wit, courageous spirit and humble effort.
However, the Pope will never allow her to be a saint after the altercation she had with him over the phone last month.

Rumours do indeed recur that she may be open to the job of secretary-general of the United Nations. But that would be out of character at this stage of her career. For a woman who in the past decade became notorious for having no ideology, she appears, with the refugee crisis, to have found her calling.
