"In a strongly patriarchal country like Sri Lanka, a woman who kills her husband would not likely be protected by the law. In Sri Lanka 60% of women are abused or raped, according to statistics, and less than 3% of the men are ever brought to justice. That is very frightening and goes against Australia’s democratic principles++"
