මෙරට මූල්‍ය ඉතිහාසයේ එක්සත් ජනපද ඩොලරයක් සඳහා නියම වූ ඉහළම රුපියල් අගය වාර්තාගත ලෙස යළිත් වරක් අද  (19) දිනයේ දී සීඝ්‍ර ඉහළ යාමක් වාර්තා කර තිබේ.

මෙහිදී එක්සත් ජනපද ඩොලරයක ගැණුම් මිල රු. 163.8714 ක් ලෙසින් සටහන් වූ අතර විකුණුම් මිල රු. 167.4125 ක් ලෙසින් සටහන් විය.

එක්සත් ජනපද ඩොලරයක විකුණුම් මිල රු. 167 සීමාවන් ඉක්මවා ගිය  පළමු අවස්ථාව ලෙසින් මෙය සැලකේ.

මේ අනුව පසුගිය සිකුරාදා (14) දින සිට දෛනිකව රුපියල බැගින්, එක්සත් ජනපද ඩොලරයට එරෙහිව ශ්‍රී ලංකා රුපියල අවප්‍රමාණය වී තිබේ.

2018 සැප්තැම්බර් 13 බ්‍රහස්පතින්දා ඩොලරයේ විකුණුම් මිල වාර්තා වූයේ රු. 163.9676 ක් ලෙසිනි.

Thanks Nihal. The result will be tightening of belts by the local consumers which is healthy for the economy. But political uncertainty will deepen seeking concessions. Let us see what the government would do.

Having generators as back up power will solve this issue. Already many industries have bought generators with the incentive schemes some time back. What I meant is more than this. China exports goods and services below cost with the help of their massive subsidy schemes. Government absorbs part of the cost of production disregarding world trade practices. We also should adopt some thing similar to benefit from the declining rupee. This will enable us to compete in the world market.
